Offering a $5,000 bonus

Location : Greenville, VA. The Cold Springs Correctional Unit Community Corrections Alternative Program (CCAP) facilitates social behavioral change, cognitive restructuring, and substance abuse treatment programming within an Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) environment to support personal growth and prepare the probationer / parolee to return to the community.

Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8 : 00 am - 4 : 30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Pay rate : $24.038 / hr. ($50,000 annually). Candidates with a CSAC, CADC, or equivalent certification / license are eligible for $27.8846 / hr. ($58,000 annually).

Responsibilities of the Counselor

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individual treatment plans within established timeframes.
  • Facilitate psycho-educational and process groups as defined by the curriculum.
  • Provide individual counseling according to program timeframes and document each session per policies and procedures.
  • Maintain clinical records in accordance with contractual and Spectrum standards.
  • Serve as a role model / mentor for program participants, maintaining professional boundaries, and addressing issues, concerns, and inappropriate behaviors promptly and in accordance with Spectrum's clinical design.

    • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field required.
  • State certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in Virginia or similar certification / license recognized by the Virginia Board of Professional Counselors required within two (2) years of employment.
  • Experience working within a correctional or secure environment is a plus.
