We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Compliance Engineer to ensure our company meets applicable regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating product designs for compliance requirements, preparing internal and external documentation, and coordinating testing and certification processes to ensure legal compliance with global regulatory requirements, as well as contractual and business liability management. Additional job duties include :
- Ensure battery-powered, intentional emitter (RF) products, (incl. wearables) comply with national and international standards (e.g., FCC, CE, UL, CSA, IEC, RoHS, REACH) for legal compliance, contractual and business liability management, including but not limited to safety, electromagnetic compatibility, cybersecurity, transport, and commerce.
- Review and interpret relevant compliance regulations and communicate requirements to design and engineering teams.
- Estimate, plan, and coordinate prototype pre-scans and product qualification tests; contact, schedule, and coordinate third-party labs and Notified Bodies.
- Responsible for Declarations of Conformity and maintenance of documentation files related to compliance.
- Participate in design reviews to identify potential compliance issues early in the product development lifecycle.
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and purchasing teams to ensure compliance is integrated into product design and production.
- Monitor changes in global regulatory requirements and update company practices accordingly.
- Assign and maintain import and export tariff codes; document rationale and maintain trackers. Support export control classification (ECCN) under the EAR.
- Update product manuals for regulatory compliance
- Develop and implement contract compliance monitoring tools, checklists, and audit procedures.
- Recommend public part numbering to reduce regulatory burden.
- Identify and escalate potential non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, and business units to clarify contract terms and ensure understanding of compliance requirements, including Conflict Material Declaration, Binding Customer Agreements, Disaster Recovery Plans, etc. and make recommendations for Leadership Team.
- Prepare and present reports on contract compliance status, risks, and trends.

Bachelor's degree preferred5+ years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, or product certification in the electronics industry.Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks such as FCC, CE, UL, RoHS, NOM and EMC standards.Experience with compliance testing with third-party labs required.Experience in consumer electronics, automotive electronics, or medical devices.Knowledge of international markets, global product certification, and Global Market Access skillset / industry expertise requiredExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems.Our culture places a high value on solution finders, teamwork, accountability, and results.
