About the Role : Pulmonary Function Technologist

This is a high-impact clinical role supporting respiratory diagnostics across our network. You’ll perform advanced pulmonary function tests, support satellite clinics, and act as a liaison between vendors and IT teams to ensure system-wide excellence.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform spirometry and flow-volume loop testing, both pre- and post-bronchodilator, lung volumes by plethysmography or helium dilution, airway resistance measurements, single breath diffusion, and inspiratory / expiratory pressures.
  • Conduct arterial punctures and blood gas analysis in compliance with CAP and departmental guidelines.
  • Train and support satellite clinics and nursing staff on spirometry protocols and interpretation systems.
  • Prepare, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot pulmonary function instruments.
  • Perform quality control and proficiency testing, documenting actions accordingly.
  • Review test data for accuracy and reproducibility and provide feedback to clinics as needed.
  • Set up new pulmonary function testing operations, upgrades, and software installations as needed, to include 20 testing stations and one workstation.
  • Act as a liaison between spirometry software / hardware vendors and Kelsey-Seybold IT departments.
  • Collaborate with the Pulmonary Function Coordinator and RRT Supervisor to prepare clinical quality control programs.
  • Maintain oversight of the spirometry system in conjunction with the KSC IT department.
  • Provide updates and research for pulmonologists and other physicians.
  • Conduct onsite training and competency assessments for supplemental staff under the direction of the Mohs surgeon.

What We’re Looking For

Required :

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of college-level science coursework
  • 3+ years of experience in full-range of diagnostic pulmonary function testing
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications
  • Preferred :

  • Respiratory Care Practitioner with an associate or bachelor’s degree
  • CPR certification and ongoing competency re-certification
  • Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (or within one year of hire)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist or Cardiopulmonary Function Therapist
  • Experience with spirometry hardware / software and information systems
  • Management or supervisory experience in pulmonary function labs
  • Bilingual communication skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $23.41 to $41.83 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
