About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum 1.5 years ICU experience required

License : Valid RN license

Certifications : BLS (AHA only), ACLS (AHA only)

Must-Have : Strong background in medical patients and critical care

Description :

Caring for ventilated patients.

Initiating and titrating IV drips including vasopressors, sedation, and paralytics.

Assisting with intubations and line placement.

Monitoring critically ill patients with primary diagnoses such as sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure, myocardial infarctions, pulmonary embolism, and pneumonia.

This is a mixed acuity unit with both ICU and progressive care patients present.

Travelers will care for both types of patients, but more often progressive care patients than ICU patients.

Equipment utilized includes heart monitors, electronic medical record systems, medication dispensing systems, EKG machines, and dopplers.

The position requires flexibility, critical thinking, teamwork, and strong interpersonal skills.

Candidates with travel experience and Level 1 or Level 2 facility experience are preferred.

The nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 3 or 1 : 4 for progressive patients and 1 : 2 or 1 : 3 for ICU patients.

Dress code consists of Caribbean blue scrubs, with jackets in black, white, or Caribbean blue.

Onboarding includes a review of policies and access to necessary training.

Travelers may be floated to other ICUs, progressive units, and medical-surgical floors, maintaining a 1 : 3 maximum ratio.
