Are you passionate about helping individuals overcome opioid addiction and reclaim their lives? AppleGate Recovery, a BayMark Health Services company , is seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to provide crucial care and support to individuals on their recovery journey. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of those struggling with opioid use disorders.

Position Overview

As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will provide patient-centered care by offering treatment and casework services in compliance with all laws and AppleGate policies. You will play a pivotal role in supporting our patients by assessing their needs and providing counseling services to aid their recovery. This position involves close collaboration with a multidisciplinary treatment team and requires comprehensive documentation to track patient progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care and Counseling : Conduct individual and group counseling sessions focused on opioid use disorder treatment.
  • Comprehensive Assessments : Perform thorough patient assessments to inform treatment plans, and track patient progress with timely documentation.
  • Treatment Plan Development : Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in compliance with state regulations.
  • Care Coordination : Collaborate with the treatment team to coordinate patient care, ensuring the best possible outcomes.
  • Ongoing Support and Education : Provide clinical services, educational support, and guidance for patients, helping them navigate their recovery journey.

Qualifications

  • Education : Master's degree in a related field (or currently enrolled in a master's program).
  • Preferred License : LPC, LCSW, AADC, or ADC.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification : Required or to be obtained upon hire.
  • Experience : Prior experience working with individuals struggling with opioid addiction.
  • Clinical Skills : Proficient in conducting assessments, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and service coordination.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent written and oral communication, along with strong documentation and computer skills.
  • Background Check : Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen.
