  • Facility : Emergency Observation Unit, Teaching Hospital\n
  • Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 27 / 2025 – End : 1 / 24 / 2026)\n
  • Shift : 12-hour night shifts (18 : 50 – 07 : 10), 36 hours / week, every other weekend rotation; 48-hour weeks available\n
  • Guaranteed Hours : 36 per week\n
  • Estimated Weekly Salary : $1570 - $1680\n
  • Unit Details : 10 beds, average daily census of 8 patients\n
  • Patient Ratio : RN 1 : 5\n
  • Scrub Color : Navy\n

    • \n\nRegistered Nurse (RN) Qualifications\n \n

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)\n
  • Minimum 18 months of recent Med / Surg or Telemetry RN experience\n
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required\n
  • NIHSS certification (for Resource Team)\n
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems\n
  • Strong Med / Surg and Telemetry skills : stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain / tube management, PCA pumps, and medication gtt management (cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, IV fluids)\n
  • First-time travel nurses considered; prior travel nursing experience preferred\n

    • \n\nMed / Surg RN Responsibilities\n \n

  • Provide high-quality patient care for diagnoses including chest pain, syncope, and angina\n
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage stroke and telemetry patients\n
  • Perform trach care, chest tube management, NGT placement, and manage drains / tubes\n
  • Administer medications, including cardiac drips, blood products, and manage PCA pumps\n
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team : supervisors, charge RNs, resource RNs, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and phlebotomy / IV teams\n
  • Engage in a supportive unit culture with professional development opportunities (unit book club, Netflix clubs, and more)\n
  • Comply with weekend and holiday scheduling requirements\n
