A day in this role
You start the morning by reviewing dispatched tickets in your email and ticketing system. With parts stocked in your company vehicle, you head to customer sites within your service territory to install and commission commercial washers and dryers. On-site, you diagnose issues, perform start-ups, and walk clients through safe operation. Between visits, you update work orders, order replacement parts, and communicate any escalations to the Service Manager. Before wrapping up, you reconcile vehicle inventory and submit accurate expense and service reports.
What you'll do
- Install, commission, and repair commercial laundry equipment following company standards and safety practices.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues; document findings and recommend solutions to customers.
- Provide clear instructions to clients on proper operation after installation or repair.
- Support routine preventive maintenance and disassembly / reassembly for service.
- Research and place parts orders; review work orders and invoices to ensure parts are ordered on time to meet deadlines.
- Manage vehicle inventory; track and report company expenses accurately.
- Travel in a company vehicle to customer locations for on-site troubleshooting, repairs, and installations; respond to emergency or unscheduled maintenance as assigned by the Service Manager.
- Escalate complex issues appropriately and contribute ideas to improve processes and best practices.
- Perform additional tasks that keep the department running smoothly.
QualificationsEducation & experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.2+ years of experience repairing commercial, military, industrial, or manufacturing equipment preferred; equivalent education / training considered.Knowledge of single-phase electric power equipment required.Experience supporting customers via phone and email / ticketing systems preferred.Computer proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred.Skills & abilities
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical problems.Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.Organized and detail-oriented; capable of prioritizing multiple assignments and meeting deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication; professional interpersonal skills across all organizational levels.Resilient and adaptable in changing situations.Self-starter with a strong work ethic, initiative, and follow-through.Travel
Travel is limited to the defined service territory.
Standard and physical requirements
Activities include sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, stooping, bending, climbing, and fine motor tasks.Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.; assistive devices provided for heavier items.Frequent computer-based work requiring close vision and the ability to adjust focus; regular talking, hearing, and hand use.Valid driver’s license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record; a company vehicle may be provided.Benefits and programs
