Position Summary
The Tax Accountant supports the preparation of accurate and timely tax returns and assists with tax planning and compliance activities. This role works closely with senior tax professionals and wealth advisors to deliver high-quality service to clients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow their expertise in a dynamic and team-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, trusts, and small businesses
- Assist in gathering and organizing client tax documentation
- Support financial advisors with tax projections
- Monitor and track tax filings, payments, and deadlines
- Respond to basic client inquiries and support senior staff in complex situations
- Help identify opportunities for process improvement and workflow efficiency
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all client records and communications
- Prepare Trust Accountings
- Prepare annual AML audit
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (required)CPA or EA or progress toward certification (required)1–3 years of tax preparation experience, ideally in public accounting or financial servicesFamiliarity with CCH Axcess SuiteProficient in Microsoft 365 SuiteStrong organizational skills and attention to detailEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
