Apidel Technologies is seeking a local contract Pathology Assistant for a local contract job in Monrovia, California.

Position : Certified Pathology Assistant

Duration : Project Starting With 06+ months of contract and after understanding of instrument of facility, Work environment of facility & bonding with manager the project it will go to FTE.

Location : Monrovia, CA

Shift / Work Schedule : Will train on 3rd, once training is complete will work on 2nd until 3rd shift goes on FMLA then will move back to 3rd.

  • \t3rd Shift- 7pm-3 : 30am
  • \t2nd Shift - 2 : 30p-11 : 30p
  • Certification : Pathology Certification is required.

    Required Skills :

  • \tGrossing, small specimens, biopsies, small sections, derm, GYN, breast.
  • \tGrossing experience is required
  • \tPathology Certification is required.
  • \tWorking for a large company such as LabCorp.
  • \tAssisting the team in a time of need.
  • Job Description :

  • \tPerform complete dissection, gross description, selection and submission of tissue for microscopic examination and special studies following departmental guidelines.
  • \tFollow the laboratory's procedure for specimen handling and processing.
  • \tAdhere to the laboratory's quality control policies and procedures.
  • \tAssist other areas rotations within the department with specified assignments in a timely manner after the assigned job has been completed.
  • \tEnsure a professional environment is maintained.
  • \tIdentify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and work to correct or report the problem.
  • \tMaintain high ethical standards and integrity in performing the assigned duties. Knowledge of hazardous waste management.
  • \tKnowledge of personal protection measures and blood borne pathogens. Experience cutting frozen sections is desired.
  • Requirements :

  • \tBachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related science.
  • \tCertified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology is highly preferred.
  • \tNo experience required with the completion of a NAACLS accredited PA program.
  • \tExperience in a high-volume clinical laboratory environment is preferred.
  • \tProficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
  • \tKnowledge of quality control and quality assurance processes.
  • \tStrong communication skills; both written and verbal.
  • \tHigh level of attention detail along with strong organizational skills.
  • \tKnowledge of hazardous waste management and personal protection measures.
  • \tAbility to handle the physical requirements of the position.
  • \tMust be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.
  • \tFlexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
