Description : The Database Developer will support the Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) by providing ongoing database development, maintenance, and support for critical state education applications such as ePeGs, ASBR, CORE Data, FNS, MCDS, and Educator Certification.The role involves analyzing, developing, and maintaining ETLs, stored procedures, and SSIS packages, collaborating with developers and subject matter experts to support and improve DESE's data-driven systems.

Responsibilities :

• Collecting, analyzing, and transforming data into actionable insights to support decision-making
• Reporting & Visualization : Expertise in SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services), Tableau, and Power BI to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports.
• Data Analysis : Strong analytical skills with experience in identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies using structured and unstructured data.
• SQL & Database Knowledge : Ability to write complex queries, perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) tasks, and work with relational databases.
• Data Governance & Quality : Ensures accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data; experience in validating datasets and implementing best practices for reporting standards.
• Collaboration : Works closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and provide actionable insights for strategic planning.
