Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Trauma / Med Surg Telemetry position on a Level 1 Trauma unit, requiring a compact or SD RN license and at least 2 years of acute care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an acute care hospital on the Trauma / Med Surg-2000 unit
  • Patient population includes trauma and medical / surgical telemetry cases
  • Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 4-5 on days and 1 : 5-6 on nights
  • May float to similar Med Surg and Telemetry units within the facility
  • 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday required
  • Epic EMR is used on this unit
  • Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, care coordination, patient education, and executing nursing interventions
  • Navy blue scrubs are required
  • Orientation consists of 8 hours
  • Must disclose any prior employment with Sanford Health; there must be at least a 6-month gap since previous employment
  • Nurses may be asked to cover assigned holidays per unit policy
  • Must badge in and out at the facility each shift

    • Requirements

  • Active SD or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in an acute care setting
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Telemetry and Med / Surg experience preferred
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred
