SUMMARY
Analyzes specifications, lays out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricated and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges, and machinists’ hand tools by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoot and repair Progressive, Blank, and Transfer Dies.
- Machine, grind, and fit punches and details through knowledge of tooling, machining, and die functions.
- Disassembles dies, inspects, welds, repairs, grinds, and fits details into dies.
- Troubleshoot and repairs dies in the press room.
- Repairs damaged details, sharpens, aligns, and times dies while in press.
- Die set-up, pilot releases, timing, and feed mechanisms are occasionally adjusted.
- Required knowledge of steels, coatings, and material.
- Comply with requirements as outlined in the company handbook and the OHSA.
- Practice good housekeeping.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Other duties that may be assigned.

None for this position.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Ability to work with complicated drawings and diagrams.Tool and Die repairing and building of the most complicated progressive and transfer dies where construction details are frequently left to the Tool Maker to develop.Must be available to work either 1st shift (6 : 00am – 2 : 30pm) or 2nd shift (2 : 30pm – 11 : 00pm) with expected overtime.Education and / or experience
Completed technical school courses through a four-year apprenticeship preferred.Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively in one on one situation.Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference as well as apply basic mathematics principles.Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Certificate, Licenses, Registrations
