Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring prior travel experience, a MD or compact RN license, and current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
  • Day shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (7 : 00 to 19 : 30)
  • Patient ratio is 1 : 4
  • Triage, IV starts, and phlebotomy required
  • Must be able to orient and work as charge RN
  • Expected to care for patients in a fast-paced setting with at least 125 ED visits per day
  • Cerner EMR experience preferred
  • May come into contact with COVID patients
  • Scrub color is purple and is not provided by the facility
  • Charge experience is preferred and orientation to charge duties is required
  • Modules must be completed pre-start and can take an average of 12 hours
  • Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are accepted at a lower rate
  • Must not have worked at this health system in the past year to be eligible
  • RTO during the contract must not exceed 8 days and must allow for full completion of contracted hours
  • Three or more absences during a 13-week contract can result in termination

    • Requirements

  • Active MD or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum two years of experience as an RN required
  • At least one prior travel RN assignment is required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
  • Must have worked in an ED with at least 125 daily visits within the last 8 months
  • Expert prioritization and organizational skills required for a high-volume ER
  • Two supervisor references required
  • Flu vaccination is required for all staff
