The Integrative Sciences Initiative (ISI) at NC State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Teaching Scholar focused on innovative undergraduate instruction in interdisciplinary science education. The initiative aims to foster interdisciplinary research and education across molecular biomimicry, metabolic processes in health and disease, and accelerated technologies. The ISI is housed in Woodson Hall and aims to provide access to state-of-the-art facilities and expertise, supporting the bridge between discovery and practical application. The heart of ISI is to foster a transformative educational experience for all students by launching an innovative undergraduate curriculum that promotes inquiry, collaboration, and cross-disciplinary learning, integrating humanities, social sciences, and the arts throughout the initiative.
ISI hosts special events and public engagement activities to promote science as a shared human endeavor and to invite broader participation in the journey of discovery.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Postdoctoral Teaching Scholar will contribute to the development and delivery of integrative foundational undergraduate courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and related disciplines. The role includes designing and implementing research-informed instructional strategies that enhance undergraduate education, incorporating technologies from the modern workforce, and promoting scientific communication.
