Position Title : Manager of Individual Giving

Position Description :
The Manager of Individual Giving is an organized, tech-savvy and highly motivated individual with an eagerness to support The Washington Ballet in raising the funds required to further the organization's mission and growth strategy, reporting to the Director of Development.
The Manager of Individual Giving supports the development department's mission by helping to build and sustain longstanding relationships with the ballet's supporters, including managing and implementing the annual operating plan related to annual giving. They provide oversight, and strategic direction in recommending, organizing, directing, and implementing activities and programs for annual giving; manage and maintain all gift, event, and donor data in the TWB's Tessitura database; reconcile fundraising data with the finance department; coordinate the gift acknowledgement process; assist in general development administration and events; and attends all performances and events as a team representative.
Key Job Duties :
Gift Processing & Financial Reconciliation
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of all financial gifts to The Washington Ballet by entering gift and constituent information into the donor database system and issuing donor acknowledgements for one-time and monthly donations.
- In coordination with relationship managers, ensure pledge payments are received according to gift installment plans by pulling regular reports on pledge balances and issuing invoices.
- Draft acknowledgment letters that reinforce The Washington Ballet's mission, thank supporters, and provide appropriate tax information, using templates.
- Reconcile revenue figures with finance department to ensure accurate management of data for contributed revenue.
Database Management & Reporting
Generate established reports from the donor and patron database.Ensure the cleanliness of data by regularly updating constituent record in the Tessitura database.Conduct bulk uploads of actions and appeals within database to ensure accurate and timely records.Proactively track campaigns, funds, and appeals within donor database to allow for accurate reporting.Identify potential new fundraising prospects, through internal database mining, daily reports, and external researchCollaborate with the development team's use of campaigns, dashboards, and reports for tracking and analysisCreate manages, and reconciles the annual fund donation campaign and opportunities on external platformsManage assigned donor portfolio and member listCoordinate donor recognitionDonor Engagement
Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects under $2,500, including Friends of TWB, Jete Society, ticket donations, and designated campaign contributions (i.e. Dance for PD)Collaborate with and supports the Development team on portfolio moves management and donor engagement strategiesActively seek opportunities to personally connect with current and prospective donors with a focus on increasing engagement, donations, and membershipCollaborate with Marketing and School staff on donor engagement opportunitiesEvent Management
Manage and lead benefits events, which can include Studio Session, Lunch & Learns, Trainee Open Rehearsals from start to completion. Manage invitations, contracts, and follow-up processes for other members of the Development and Leadership Team.Execute select special fundraising events (Nutcracker Tea Party, etc.)Collaborate with Marketing staff on event communications, donor invitations, solicitations, and other development communicationsServe as a primary contact for donors, providing concierge service prior to and during eventsManage concierge experience elements and sponsor benefits fulfillment for individuals in portfolioGeneral Development Administration
Manage and implement general membership and Family Circle programs through written appeals and cultivation events.Conduct research to support development team members, including donor prospect and grant research.Ensure the development team is equipped with essential tools by monitoring key application subscriptions and professional services, and maintaining inventory of letterhead, envelopes and other stationery.Support the development team members on grant and funder reporting and benefits tracking.Assist the Director of Development and department in expense tracking.Draft gift agreements and proposals to support the development team, as necessary.Enter gift and constituent information into the donor database system, as needed.Provide training to new staff and volunteers to ensure the consistent and successful execution of fundraising activitiesCollaborate with the Senior Manager of Development to prepare and manage giving vehicles, including Donate2Actively participate in creating a work culture that embodies the core values of TWB; Creativity, Commitment, Communication, Collaboration, Compassion, and Community.Required Skills and Knowledge :
