BE PART OF THE CONNECTION

As a Producer , you’ll serve as the heart of the newsroom. You’ll lead the charge on driving local news coverage and determining the most important stories of the day. You’ll make sure that major stories are covered during the given shift by coordinating news teams, resources, and logistics. You will establish priorities and assist in content coverage. You will organizing news gathering and collaborate on story ideas.

Transforming stories from a simple pitch into a hit that inspires and delights viewers

Identifying the news events that should be covered and working with producers to decide which reporter should cover each event

Required Qualifications

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM NEWS

Experience : Television news - 2+ years

Education : Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience

Technical Skills : Knowledge of social media platforms and basic editing skills (Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro)

Skills : Go-getter personality, and excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills

Travel Ability : Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community

Schedule : Ability to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of general office computer software, newsroom software, and basic non-linear editing systems

Assignment desk experience

May be required to lift up to five pounds

Working Conditions

Works primarily inside a climate-controlled environment throughout the year

Semi-noisy newsroom setting
