Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1570–$1680

Assignment Length : 13 weeks

Location : Florence, SC 29505 (South Carolina nursing jobs)

Unit : Cardiac Stepdown Unit

Shift : Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7 : 00pm – 7 : 00am)

Total Hours : 36 hours per week

Holiday Rotation : Required

Weekend Coverage : Every other weekend

Patient Ratio : 1 : 4

Charting System : Epic EMR

Scrub Color : Royal blue

Parking : Free on-site parking

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active South Carolina RN license or Compact Registered Nurse license (must be in hand before start)

Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Stepdown RN experience

Previous travel nursing experience required

Certifications : ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS preferred

Experience with Epic EMR preferred

Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs

Willingness to work during hurricane season (June–November) if assignment overlaps

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted)

Locals within 60 miles not accepted

First-time travelers not accepted

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a cardiac stepdown setting

Monitor cardiac telemetry and manage patients post-cardiac procedures, including cardiac surgery, angiogram, and TPA care

Administer blood products, manage arterial and central lines, and provide ventilator and tracheostomy care

Interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias, titrate insulin drips, and respond to rapid response / code situations

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Float to similar units as needed to support hospital operations

Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR

Participate in holiday and weekend rotations as scheduled
