About The Position

Job Title : Interventional Radiology Technologist

Profession : Radiology / Cardiology

Specialty : Interventional Radiology

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day 5x8-Hour

Hours per Shift : 8 hours

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in specialty preferred

License : Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice required

Certifications :

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Radiography (ARRT-R) required
  • Current Fluoroscopy license required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS or HS-BLS or RQI BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS or Healthstream ACLS or RQI ACLS) required

Must-Have :

  • Must have Fluoro and X-ray experience as well as Interventional Radiology Tech experience
  • Description :

    Aids physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of heart, lung, and blood vessel disorders.

    Conducts invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests of cardiovascular and pulmonary systems.

    Operates x-ray and physiological equipment.

    Assists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

    Maintains equipment and records test results.

    Assists physicians with procedures.

    Operates all special procedure equipment and can select and modify technical factors as needed.

    Acts as a resource for specialized or complicated procedures.

    Monitors, records, and evaluates patient vital signs throughout procedures.

    Provides protection to patients according to prescribed radiation safety standards.

    Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures.

    Regularly practices aseptic techniques and strictly obeys isolation and infection control procedures.

    Operates, records, and maintains physiologic equipment in accordance with established clinical cardiovascular procedures.

    Responsible for all cardiac catheterization equipment such as C-Arm, angiographic injectors, and associated patient monitoring equipment.

    Reports any malfunctions and practices preventive maintenance procedures.

    Demonstrates the ability to perform simple troubleshooting and repair.

    Assists the Cardiologist or physician during special procedures and in the administration of opaque media.

    Completes appropriate forms at the start and end of any special procedures including special procedures record sheet and requisitions.

    Charges are appropriately recorded.

    Performs general office duties as requested.

    Keeps area stocked at all times and cleans and disinfects equipment after each patient use.

    Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
