Pay Scale is up to $21.00 per hour - Rate is determined following interview based on non-discriminatory factors

Performs driving duties, other miscellaneous clerical and office duties.Reviews daily schedule and helps fellow drivers when not busy.Drives to and arrives at destinations as scheduled.Notifies agency staff and consumer when running late.Participate and promote departmental and agency quality improvement initiatives.Contacts consumer and agency in the event of a delay through the use of the company phone.Maintains a helpful and courteous attitude when interacting with consumers, visitors, and agency personnelAdheres to the posted speed limits and all state of Michigan laws that apply to motor vehicleAssists clients in and out of van.Maneuvers wheelchairs on and off the van liftMaintains and checks the fluid / gasoline levels in all vehiclesMaintains a clean appearance of assigned vehiclesProvides weekly reports to the department supervisorPerforms miscellaneous clerical and office duties as assigned when not drivingOther duties as assignedQualifications
Experience :
Required :1 year of passenger transportation service experience
Ability to operate a wheelchair liftNo more than one moving violation within the past twelve months.No operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated or impaired by consumption due to alcohol or illegal drugs within the past 8 yearsNo suspended, revoked, or expired license within the past five years.Intermediate level experience with computers and Microsoft office productsAbility to work closely with persons with mental or physical limitations.Ability to drive safely in all types of weather and road conditionsAbility to communicate effectively, professionally, and courteouslyAbility to use discretion and judgmental when handling matters of a sensitive or confidential natureIntermediate time management, problem-solving, customer service, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skillsIntermediate collaboration and team working skills.Ability to be forward-thinking and take initiative to accomplish goals and objectives of the departmentEducation :
Required :Minimum high-school diploma or equivalent
Licenses & Certifications :
Required :Must have a valid and unrestricted Michigan Driver's License
