IRA Support Specialist

The IRA Support Specialist is responsible for providing IRA time deposit customer support, including addressing customer and branch inquiries, processing new applications, contributions, distributions, and beneficiary designations. The incumbent will answer general questions regarding annual mailings of federal tax withholdings and monthly / quarterly statements. Respond to and handle phone inquiries from customers and bank associates regarding IRA time deposits. Inquiries include instructions on completing new applications, performing distributions and contributions, and the handling of beneficiary designations and relationships. Process and verify new applications, contributions, change of beneficiary and distributions. NOTE : This position requires availability from 10AM to 7PM Central

How You Will Spend Your Time :

  • Ensure the documentation is complete, accurate, and ready for records retention
  • Send appropriate confirmation letters directly to customers
  • Access reports to proactively manage distributions for customers reaching age 73 and over
  • Manage processes to ensure proper tax withholdings are recorded and the bank is in compliance with all distribution requirements
  • Train branch personnel on IRA time deposit policies and procedures
  • Support inquiries related to the annual mailing of tax statements
  • Keep current with all IRS regulations for IRAs and Time Deposits
  • Test and validate new systems for tax reporting on IRA Time Deposits Recommend changes and create new internal procedures for IRA Time Deposits

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of Financial Services experience with IRA or time deposit account experience preferred
  • Customer service experience
  • Microsoft Office applications experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with coworkers, managers, and business partners
  • Demonstrated excellent attention to detail and accuracy of work produced
  • Demonstrated good decision making / problem solving ability
  • Demonstrated good written communication skills
  • Proven to be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to determine priorities, plan, organize, and follow through on tasks
  • UMB system experience; Hogan, RDS
  • Compensation Range : $38,910.00 - $75,080.00
