Description :

This position is for a travel Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical and Telemetry.

The assignment will last for 26 weeks.

The nurse will work day shifts, three days a week.

Weekend shifts may be required based on scheduling needs.

The nurse will float between units as necessary.

The expected patient ratios are 1 : 5-6.

Special requirements include managing post-operative orthopedic trauma care, blood administration, wound vacs, and CPM.

The unit is a 30-bed orthopedic trauma unit treating patients with MVAs, fractures, amputations, industrial accidents, gunshot wounds, cellulitis, joint replacement surgery, and COVID patients intermittently.

Daily census in the unit averages around 28 patients.

The hospital is a short-term acute care facility with 379 staffed beds.

Expect an interdisciplinary support system, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services to aid in patient care.

Traveling staff may be expected to float between sister facilities.

Providers may be required to have communication devices to perform their duties.

Time off requests must be made upfront during the submittal process.

Inflexibility with the contracted schedule may lead to termination of the assignment.
