American Traveler is seeking an experienced inpatient Physical Therapist with BLS certification and California licensure for a rehab role utilizing EPIC EMR.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Inpatient rehabilitation position at a community hospital settingTypical shift is Tuesday through Saturday, 8 : 30 am to 5 : 00 pmFloating required between two nearby locations in Placerville, CACovers acute care and outpatient physical therapy patientsPatient population includes geriatric, neurological, orthopedic, cardiopulmonary, and post-surgical conditionsCommon diagnoses include post-stroke, Parkinson’s disease, joint replacements, spinal surgeries, COPD, CHF, and musculoskeletal injuriesUses EPIC electronic medical record; prior experience is preferredResponsibilities include evaluation, developing plans of care, treatment, discharge planning, and patient / family educationRole will involve using various treatment modalities and equipment such as paraffin bath, walkers, and supplemental oxygenMust demonstrate strong time management and critical thinking skills in a dynamic inpatient environmentFirst-time travelers are consideredReturn staff must have a 6-month gap before returning as a travelerUp to 5-7 days of requested time off is typically approved, with longer periods considered if time can be added at contract endProfessional attire in compliance with hospital dress code is expected\n \n Requirements\n
Active California Physical Therapist license requiredCurrent BLS certification requiredMinimum of 2 years recent experience in an inpatient rehabilitation or acute care setting requiredExperience with a variety of conditions including orthopedics, neurology, geriatrics, and cardiopulmonary casesProficiency with patient assessment, discharge planning, goal setting, and treatment planningComfort with assistive devices and specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts, sit to stand lifts, and gait beltsEPIC EMR experience preferred\n Benefits\n
