Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced inpatient Physical Therapist with BLS certification and California licensure for a rehab role utilizing EPIC EMR.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Inpatient rehabilitation position at a community hospital setting
  • Typical shift is Tuesday through Saturday, 8 : 30 am to 5 : 00 pm
  • Floating required between two nearby locations in Placerville, CA
  • Covers acute care and outpatient physical therapy patients
  • Patient population includes geriatric, neurological, orthopedic, cardiopulmonary, and post-surgical conditions
  • Common diagnoses include post-stroke, Parkinson’s disease, joint replacements, spinal surgeries, COPD, CHF, and musculoskeletal injuries
  • Uses EPIC electronic medical record; prior experience is preferred
  • Responsibilities include evaluation, developing plans of care, treatment, discharge planning, and patient / family education
  • Role will involve using various treatment modalities and equipment such as paraffin bath, walkers, and supplemental oxygen
  • Must demonstrate strong time management and critical thinking skills in a dynamic inpatient environment
  • First-time travelers are considered
  • Return staff must have a 6-month gap before returning as a traveler
  • Up to 5-7 days of requested time off is typically approved, with longer periods considered if time can be added at contract end
  • Professional attire in compliance with hospital dress code is expected

  • Active California Physical Therapist license required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience in an inpatient rehabilitation or acute care setting required
  • Experience with a variety of conditions including orthopedics, neurology, geriatrics, and cardiopulmonary cases
  • Proficiency with patient assessment, discharge planning, goal setting, and treatment planning
  • Comfort with assistive devices and specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts, sit to stand lifts, and gait belts
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred
