POSITION SUMMARY :
Provide support to the community by delivering face-to-face and comprehensive coaching for individuals in the Substance Abuse Program. Provide social, educational, vocational, medical, psychological, and housing rehabilitative programming services.
Job Type : Full Time
Pay : Starting $26 / hr.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate and co-facilitate group counseling and educational sessions.
- Provide appropriate referrals and act as a client advocate.
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to clients.
- Perform individual and group treatment in accordance with best practices.
- Provide medication monitoring and drug testing.
- Participate in weekly case and chart reviews.
- Work in close collaboration with other Counselors, Support Staff, Leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Develop an individualized treatment plan, representing a comprehensive continuum of care and addressing follow-up service needs to prevent relapse for each participant on their caseload.
- Maintain individual participant treatment files in accordance with agency policies and procedures, including treatment plan implementation and documentation of substance abuse counseling and activities.
- Deliver individual and group substance abuse counseling and educational services, along with gender-specific and trauma-informed services.
- Facilitate a culturally competent environment with therapeutic activities that promote cultural awareness, sensitivity, and support.
- Provide counseling to strengthen positive relationships and support systems with peers and family.
- Maintain safety and security of the facility.
- Uphold and enforce G.L.O.M. Substance Abuse Programs standards, policies and procedures, client rights, and professional code of ethics and conduct.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years old.Current American Red Cross Adult First Aid, CPR Completion Certificate or agree to complete before start.Must provide documentation of a TB test within the last year.Must possess a valid California driver's license and have a clean driving record.Willingness to travel : 25% of the time.Previous experience in counseling, social work, or other related fields.At least one (1) year of experience providing SUDT services as a certified AOD Counselor; or Registered with an AOD certifying organization recognized by DHCS, enrolled in AOD education classes, and six (6) months of experience providing CBI services. Current AOD Registration (RADT-1, RADT-II, RAC, or RACI).PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift and / or carry up to 40 pounds.Ability to sit, rise, kneel, squat, twist, pull, and bend multiple times a day.Ability to navigate stairs and walkways.Ability to perform repetitive maneuvers and manual tasks.Ability to work in an office environment.BENEFITS
