Important to know
We have several ongoing and new projects. Depending on your home location, for the first 12-18 months, you may predominantly be working on large projects we have in Louisville, KY or Indianapolis, IN or Columbus, OH or Chicago, IL. The travel schedule will be 70-90% on-site each workweek.
There will be some occasions where we'd ask you to work over the weekend (such as during the go-live phase).
The Mission
The SR. CONTROL ENGINEER is an integral person in helping our customer’s vision for an automated warehousing solution from Addverb US come to life. The core objective is to commission autonomous mobile robots and pallet / bin shuttles and integrate them with the customer’s warehouse operations.
As our SR. CONTROL ENGINEER, you...(aka Responsibilities & Duties)
Ensure safety, adhere to company policies / Rules regarding a safe and clean workplace for all team members.Study project design, customer requests, standards of performance and cost estimates to understand scope of project and deliverables.Plan, secure and deploy resources to complete all activities at site (Technical / Non-Technical) associated with project.Maintain document ledger with respect to availability of drawings, materials receipt status at site and manpower availability.Maintain proper documents of material received at site and ensure zero stock variance at site.Monitor project pace and suggest schedule changes as needed.Identify any changes to scope and escalate the project manager.Maintain a punch list at site. Resolve issues. Proactively identify issues at site and escalate to project manager,Liaison with other stake holders (including design, controls, planning, dispatch, IT & internal project team to ensure issues on site are addressed and resolved. Adhere to established budget and escalate in case of any concern.Aid in contractor management at project siteUpdate management team and other stakeholders on project progression, completion and any necessary updates regularly.Maintain an organized transparent project report through PLM & SAP containing necessary project information.Perform quality control reviews of all design and fabrication efforts throughout project creation and implementation stages.Design performance tests and conduct them on projects to assure quality.Conduct Review with contractors, participate in reviews with hierarchy.We work closely with our Global colleagues. The morning or evening hours are the most important so we can connect with them while our business hours overlap across time zones, so you should be available during these times.Specifically :This is how we know you're up for the job (aka Qualifications) :
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Instrumentation and Control / Mechatronics / Electrical Engineering / Robotics or related field)Minimum criteria : 7 years of experience in installation and commissioning of automation projects. (Same or similar industry preferred)Experience in Automated Material Handling Systems (Conveyors, ASRS, Lifts, Robots, Barcode Scanners, Barcode Print & Apply, etc.) will be preferred.Experience with PLC (Standard and Safety PLCs) : programming, Installation, Commissioning and Hardware / Software troubleshootingWork Experience on Siemens’ latest PLC / HMI platforms - PreferedExperience on industrial communication protocols preferably Ethernet IP, TCP / IP, Modbus TCP / IP, Profibus, Profinet.Exposure to Kepware and other OPC server preferred.Familiar with CAD to read drawings (Eplan, AutoCAD) and understandGood English verbal and written communication skillComfortable working on-site at project / customer sitesWillingness to travel as needed to support projects and customersLegally authorized to work in the US without any visa sponsorship.EEO
