Overview
The Marine Designer will develop and update marine mechanical, structural and electrical design drawings to meet client / customer requirements. The drawings developed and updated support both commercial and military marine vessels. To be successful, the candidate must possess excellent time management and communication skills required, and a keen eye for and attention to detail.

Company Background Investigation, U.S. Citizenship, CAC, and a secret security clearance is required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Understanding of discipline-specific shipboard mechanical, electrical, and structural systems.
- Inputting design specifications into the 2D and 3D CAD software.
- Convert engineering sketches into scaled engineering drawings.
- Convert PDF, Excel, and other formats into AUTOCAD dwg files.
- Creating surface and solid models in CAD and other design software.
- Review drawings for adherence to company and customer standards.
- Working with design teams and individually on CAD projects.
- Conducing final model rendering and delivering the final product.
- Perform ship checks to verify drawing accuracy and develop system modification sketches.
- Train and mentor peers to improve their CAD skills.
- Ability to read and translate blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to work as part of a team and individually on projects.
Education / Certification Requirements
High School Diploma or GEDCAD Certification.Five (5) years of experience in marine AutoCAD drawing productionSecret Security ClearanceJ-18808-Ljbffr
