Maintenance Operations, a branch of the Facilities Operations and Maintenance Division, provides comprehensive maintenance services in support of the Universitys operations. Our teams provide a comprehensive array of qualified services, backed by our licensed and certified technicians, to this end, we offer opportunities for continuing education, as well as various stipends for additional trade licenses. Purpose
To provide journey level work associated with fire sprinkler systems. Responsible for providing journey level work in the testing, repair, inspection, maintenance, and operation of fire sprinkler systems.
Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
High school graduation or GED. Two years of experience in journey level installation, repair, maintenance, and operation of electronic equipment, systems, and components.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates degree in a technical field. Be knowledgeable of the Fire Water Distribution Loop and be product knowledgeable. More than two years of the described experience. Experience at the University of Texas or in a university setting. Demonstrated ability to work as a team member. Customer service oriented. Computer skills. NICET Certification in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems and / or Water Based Systems Layout. Master Plumber License. AutoCAD experience. Successful completion of the Leader Development Program.
