Job Summary :
Responsible for the day to day applications support of PACS equipment including modality workflow, archiving, quality assurance of data, and other related activities. Works closely with other PACS personnel, Department Managers, and supervisors to ensure operation of DICOM digital imaging data transfer into the PACS as well as network transmission, HIS validation and exception handling. The role of the PACS Administrator is to be a technical expert on the PACS workstations. Responsible for system support, assisting radiologists in the delivery of images to the reading stations, participate in quality improvement activities, and assist department staff and physicians with training and any system issues. Responsibilities will include writing training manual for department staff, educating physicians, and system implementation. Responsible for PACS on-call support and PACS database administration, and file room. Must have excellent customer support skills, above average computer skills, ability to multitask, and expertise in problem solving. Reports directly to the Radiology Director.

Qualifications : Education / Skills
High School Diploma required. Certification in Pacs administration preferred. 7 + years in IT or Powerscribe or PACS Administration required
Work Experience :
Knowledge of Radiology workflow, as well as staff roles and responsibilities required.
Strong process orientation, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, and a firm
commitment to quality required. Must have the ability to understand, relate, and build
confidence in customer. Solid understanding of desktop operating systems software and
web browser required; familiarity with Hospital Information Systems (EPIC, Misys) required.
