About The Position

Job Title : PICU Registered Nurse

Profession : Registered Nurse

Shift : Night Shift

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience :

Minimum of 2 years of PICU experience required.

1st time travelers accepted.

Preferred experience in ECMO and CRRT.

License :

Must have a valid RN license.

Certifications :

BLS and PALS certifications are required.

Must-Have :

Candidates must have the ability to float within scope to meet facility needs.

Description :

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is a 28-bed unit providing intensive and intermediate care to children ages 0-18.

The unit cares for patients with a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses.

Common diagnoses include respiratory compromise, trauma, and post-operative surgical patients requiring immediate intensive care support.

Additional care includes neurology / neurosurgery patients.

The unit provides ECMO and CRRT, as well as renal or peritoneal dialysis and other complex supportive therapies.

Pediatric Palliative care is available as needed.

Staffing includes Registered Nurses, Patient Care Technicians, and Unit Secretaries.

Therapeutic supportive services such as Respiratory Therapy, Pediatric Dietitians, and Pediatric Pharmacists are available as needed.

Candidates must be open to accommodating block schedules, pending manager approval.

Weekend shifts are required, along with a holiday requirement if the contract is during that period.

Daily patient ratios vary, including 1 : 1, 1 : 2, and 1 : 3, depending on unit needs.

Travelers should be prepared for potential emergency assignments during severe weather seasons.
