Volt is immediately hiring a Strategic Sourcing Manager in San Jose , CA.

As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will :

Job Summary

Strategic Sourcing Managers (SSMs) on the Places Team own the commercial relationship with our Owner Furnished Item (OFI) manufacturing partners and are responsible for cost negotiations, continuity of supply, risk management, driving operational and cost efficiencies through process or design change, as well overall project execution and delivery. SSMs sit at the intersection of Client's Supply Chain Development (SCD) and Construction Development teams, and effectively balance the needs of both groups to ensure successful project deliveries. Fit out components (such as the display fixtures, facades, glass and wall panels) define the look, feel and expression of Client’s globally recognized retail stores, campus and offices. SSMs work in concert with R&D, Design, Development, Operations, Merchandising and Facilities to deliver these extraordinary projects. Together, these teams execute and launch both new and reimagined spaces used by both client employees and customers across the world.

Key Qualifications

• 10-15 years of experience in supply chain development, strategic sourcing, or procurement is a requirement.
• Ideal candidate would have experience working on the design, development and construction of Architectural Facades.  Knowledge of Glazing and Glass production companies desired.
• Procurement experience specifically with construction materials is a plus.
• Detail oriented and able to work on multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Hands-on experience in any of the following : product development, design, manufacturing practices / techniques (specially of laminated glass), vendor management, or supply chain development.
• Experience with legal contracts for material and services.
• Strong analytical / negotiation skills.
• Ability to toggle between strategic and detail orientated thinking.
• Tenacious problem solving & issue resolution skills.
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to dynamic and rapidly changing environments.
• Excellent communicator, capable of working in multinational environments, driven and motivated by accomplishing extraordinary objectives.
• Must be a self-starter who is comfortable working independently.
• Must have experience working well with and ability to influence cross functional teams.
• Possess strong business acumen and experience managing strategic supply chains, cost models, and complex procurements.
• Have a background in handling detailed negotiations.
• Must be able and willing to travel. (Hybrid Business travel maybe required Canada, Mexico and USA)

Successful SSMs thrive in a rapidly changing environment and constantly drive excellence across their own responsibilities as well as that of team members and partners. They frequently leverage strategic internal relationships to effectively collaborate with design, development and other Client’s teams. You are able to make smart decisions with the information available, think and stay focused under pressure, and communicate concisely and effectively with senior management as well as peers. SSMs scale new and existing manufacturing partners as well as executing creative and strategic commercial deals to achieve goals around cost, supply, and quality.

Duration : 12 months.

Pay Rate : $100.49 / hr. to $110.49 / hr.
