About the Role

Join Marion Countys Solid Waste Department and help manage key infrastructure projects that serve our community. This role supports operations through project management, field inspections, reporting, and coordination of solid waste facilities such as landfills, transfer stations, and recycling centers.

Youll work on improving efficiency, safety, and sustainability while collaborating with contractors, consultants, and the public.

What Youll Do

• Oversee the design and construction of solid waste projects.
• Perform field reviews and inspections of facilities and infrastructure.
• Prepare reports, budgets, cost analyses, and project documentation.
• Coordinate contracts, permitting, and bid specifications.
• Manage contractor performance, safety tracking, and compliance.
• Investigate complaints and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead or assist public and contractor meetings.
• Maintain accurate job cost, procurement, and performance reports.
• Provide excellent customer service to both residents and County staff.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role may lead small project teams, oversee contractors, and provide on-the-job training. Involves scheduling, evaluating performance, and ensuring compliance with county standards.
