Staff / Senior Accountant – Technical Accounting

Role Overview :

Join a high-impact technical accounting team where you'll apply U.S. GAAP to complex transactions and help interpret new accounting standards for a dynamic energy company.

Key Responsibilities :

🧠 Act as a subject matter expert on complex accounting issues

📄 Draft technical accounting memos for transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, derivatives, impairment)

📜 Evaluate contracts for lease accounting and embedded derivatives

🔍 Monitor U.S. standard-setters and implement new guidance

🏛️ Support stand-alone entities including not-for-profit and FERC-regulated groups

📝 Assist with SEC filings and related disclosures

📂 Provide documentation for internal and external audits

🔄 Adapt to evolving business needs with flexibility and initiative

Qualifications & Skills :

✅ Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP

📚 Experience with accounting research and technical memos

🧾 Familiarity with SEC reporting (preferred)

💻 Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

🧩 Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities

🗣️ Excellent communication and collaboration skills

📅 Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

🔍 Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to learning

🤝 Open-mindedness and willingness to consider alternative perspectives
