Warehouse Operations Leader

Exciting opportunity to lead Warehouse operations for the biggest DC in the network and make a significant impact on Waters.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the GDC & LatAm Tier 2 DC teams to execute the primary tasks of order fulfilment by providing the external and internal customers with the ordered products, on time, complete, and using the most efficient and effective processes and distribution methods, receipt and distribution to and from of manufacturing feedstock from >

45 vendors and deployment to other Tier-1 & Tier-2 DCs.

  • Manage a team of approx. 45 members spanning the functions of Warehouse Operations, Trade Operations, Inbound / outbound traffic coordination, Distribution Planning & Inventory Control.
  • Lead day-to-day warehouse operations in a facility of 18,000sqm in Franklin and two other Tier-2 DCs, managing inbound and outbound flows from these facilities.
  • Build and own strong relationships with logistic vendors (freight audit & payment, transportation, warehousing, IE, brokers etc.), manage their performance according to established KPIs.
  • Develop and implement multi-year logistics strategy for the organization to meet Americas business growth needs.
  • Further expand and modernize Waters global distribution and fulfilment capabilities & services in Americas to meet emerging e-commerce & customer demand.
  • Own Trade operations and ensure compliance to all US Import & export trade regulations responsible for adherence to requirements and to mitigate compliance risk
  • Responsible for the US Free Trade Zone (FTZ) operations.
  • Actively manage inventory working with Global Planning; responsible for optimizing inventory levels, E&O and warehouse space.
  • Create annual operating plans and ensure warehousing & logistics costs are in line with those plans.
  • Liaise with finance monthly to analyze cost variance, prepare forecast and define action plans.
  • Maintain and uphold standards for quality and compliance for all products including IVD.
  • Ensure the safety, health and well-being of all employees responsible for HSE at all Waters-operate DCs in scope.
  • Actively engage in advancement & adoption of SAP and other tools to enhance distribution services and promote efficient processes.

    • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics or business
  • Minimum of 15-20 years' experience in supply chain, distribution, logistics
  • Experience in a senior role with a logistics service provider or the logistics organization of a manufacturing company
  • People leader who leads by example and can implement processes & drive performance
  • Experience of running a business from start to end within a larger international organization, covering day-to-day performance as well as projects
  • Self-starter, responsible, reliable, self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to handle data, perform analyses for decisions and generate insightful reports and presentations
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written plus an ability to interact with a wide range of people across functions and countries; with internal and external parties
  • Experience with financial processes : budgeting, reporting, analysis of results
  • Experience with an ERP system and planning concepts
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, tasks & day-to-day operations
