General Description : Manages complex Employee Benefit insurance accounts and services as their day-to-day contact.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage a complex book of business with various funding methods and increased levels of customization.
  • Provide proactive, personalized support to assigned clients. Act as the primary contact between clients and insurance carriers.
  • Provide insurance expertise to clients and act as a knowledge resource for other members of the Account Management team.
  • Manage client renewals and negotiate with carriers on behalf of clients.
  • Lead client meetings regarding renewal and utilization results.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients and attend in-person meetings.
  • Engage clients with internal USI Technical Resources where appropriate.
  • Educate, advise, and assist clients on all compliance topics, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500s, and Health Care Reform.
  • Develop employee communications for renewal changes, enrollment procedures, and benefit clarifications.
  • Participate in peer reviews of client deliverables and develop training content for the team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • 4+ years of experience in the employee benefits industry; college degree preferred.
  • Prior customer service experience is preferred.
  • Willingness to obtain or hold a life and disability insurance license.
  • Proficiency with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong prioritization and deadline management skills.
  • Ability to handle complex tasks with multiple variables.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
  • Excellent communication skills, clear and concise in front of an audience.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to generate solutions.

    Salary Range : $90,000 - $110,000. Bonus eligibility with a target of 5%.
