General Information

Tell us about the unit

19 bed mixed unit CVICU / CVRU who runs with a 1 : 2 or 1 : 1 ratio depending on acuity. Hold over downgraded patients may be 1 : 3.

A unit with highly trained CVICU / CVRU charges nurses who are free to assist you with any issues.

We also have an educator who will begin your orientation.

13 dayshift RNS and 11 nightshift RNS with a

nurse s aide on all shifts.

We provide heart surgery to around 850 hearts per year.

Core nurses are trained in critical care, heart care, recovery and all devices as they progress through their career.

An ECMO team nurse run for those who need, Also Impellas, IABP and LVADS regularly. This is a high acuity, friendly unit which loves to give great care.

GE monitors and a Cerner EMR.

2 years CVICU or CVRU experience.

A love for surgical heart care

Hemodynamics

Frequent ambulation of patients

Pulling Chest TUBES
