This position will work Monday through Friday from 2 : 00 p.m. to 10 : 00 p.m. for an estimated duration of two months. Following this period, the role will transition to a 12-hour 3-4-4-3 shift schedule, including weekends, working 5 : 30am-5 : 30pm . Under this schedule, employees work 3 days the first week and 4 days the next, repeating on a rotating basis.
The Role and Responsibilities
As a Nonconforming Report (NCR) Technician, you play a vital role in ensuring product and process quality by documenting, tracking, and supporting the resolution of nonconforming material and product issues. You serve as a liaison between quality, production, engineering, and supply chain teams, ensuring that nonconforming items are properly identified, segregated, and addressed according to internal procedures. Your meticulous attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and communication skills are essential in maintaining compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Your Key Areas of Impact
Inspection of Nonconforming Material : You inspect incoming, in-process, and finished parts to identify nonconformities using technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions. By ensuring that only compliant products move forward, you prevent defects from entering the next phase of production—protecting product integrity and customer satisfaction.
Nonconformance Reporting : You accurately document all nonconforming parts in Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) or defect tracking systems. Your detailed reporting provides a reliable source of data that supports trend analysis, accountability, and continuous improvement efforts across departments.
Material Segregation and Control : You segregate and quarantine nonconforming materials to prevent them from being used in production. This proactive step safeguards product quality and reduces the risk of costly recalls or customer complaints due to defective materials.
Cross-Functional Collaboration : You work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to determine the root cause of nonconformities and support effective corrective actions. Your coordination drives timely resolution, minimizes disruption, and fosters a quality-focused culture.
Defect Disposition Support : You participate in determining the appropriate disposition for nonconforming parts, whether rework, scrap, or return-to-vendor. Your involvement helps minimize material waste, reduce downtime, and support cost-effective decision-making.
Use of Precision Inspection Tools : You utilize precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and visual inspection methods to evaluate components accurately. Your technical skill ensures measurement reliability, supporting confidence in defect detection and process control.
Inspection Recordkeeping : You maintain clear and accurate inspection logs and ensure traceability of rejected materials. Your meticulous recordkeeping ensures readiness for audits and supports historical analysis that can guide future quality decisions.
Audit and Compliance Support : You provide accurate documentation and clear explanations of nonconformities during internal audits and regulatory inspections. Your preparedness ensures compliance with quality standards and enhances the organization’s reputation and audit outcomes.
Process Improvement Participation : You proactively identify and recommend improvements to inspection procedures and quality control processes. Your insights contribute to higher efficiency, reduced errors, and a stronger overall quality system.
Requirements :
You’ve received your high school diploma or equivalent, and you bring at least one (1) year of experience in manufacturing or quality inspection. Technical training or certification in quality inspection is a plus and demonstrates your commitment to accuracy and standards. You are familiar with common inspection tools and defect tracking systems, and you have the ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications with confidence. You will work with a high level of integrity, confidentiality, organization, and time management. You are proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. You may also have experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other quality management systems, and knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Familiarity with ERP or QMS software such as SAP, Oracle, or Plex.

The Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel
Your work is conducted primarily in a dynamic manufacturing setting, requiring flexibility to work in both office and production floor environments, where exposure to noise and fumes is common, necessitating the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols. You must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, whether standing or sitting, and be able to move about inside the facility. Your work requires manual dexterity, as you will regularly use hands to operate machinery, tools, or controls, and handle or manipulate objects. You must have clear visual acuity for both close-up work and monitoring processes from a distance, as well as for identifying and distinguishing colors. The ability to hear and discern various sounds and alarms is crucial for maintaining safety and operational efficiency. You operate a computer 50% of the time. You need to be able to lift to 30 lbs.
