Job Summary :
The primary responsibility of this entry-level role is to support the Sensory team by preparing tasting solutions and sourcing reference materials for evaluations. Additional duties include administrative support such as maintaining lab supply inventory, organizing emails, and assisting with general lab operations as needed.
The ideal candidate will be expected to learn and utilize IFF software for data entry and daily tasks. While this is an entry-level position, it plays a key role in ensuring smooth sample flow and supporting essential lab functions of the QC Sensory Lab.
Required Skills :
- Must not be color blind and must have passed a color blind test.
- Must focus efforts to become a valued member of the sensory team in order to support the sensory evaluation efforts of the department.
- Must become proficient in all computer systems used to support QC Sensory activities.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to accurately describe sensory characteristics of most raw materials and some finished products.
- Must become proficient at using sensitive analytical balances to weigh out raw materials and formulas.
- Must become proficient at creating and staging proper sensory samples.
- Any and all other work related duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Must have no tasting restrictions in order to accommodate a wide range of flavor types.
- Must be willing to work in a high odor environment.
- Must be willing to follow basic sensory guidelines for working with a clean palate (no perfumes / lotions / highly pungent ingested products).
- Must be willing to work in a fast paced environment.
- Must be able to multi-task.
