American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with an active OR license and Epic EMR proficiency for night shifts in a general ICU / PCU setting.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a general ICU / PCU division at a large hospital with over 300 bedsPatient population includes sepsis, respiratory failure, traumatic brain injury, neurosurgical interventions, multi-system organ failure, stroke, GI bleeding, cardiac / respiratory arrest, complex vascular surgery, and multi-system traumaNurse to patient ratios are 1 : 2 or 1 : 1 based on acuity12-hour night shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30, four shifts per weekFloating is required between ICU and PCU units and may include a nearby sister hospitalUses Epic EMR; experience with Epic is requiredResponsibilities include managing critically ill patients requiring advanced interventions such as vents, telemetry, and sedationFloating to other units and a nearby sister hospital may be requested as neededStrict rules on requested time off (RTO); additional requests after submission or extension may result in cancellationReturn staff must have a 6-month break in service before returning as a travelerLocal candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelersTeamwork with other ICU and PCU staff is essential\n \n Requirements\n
Active unrestricted OR RN license (no pending status accepted)BLS and ACLS certifications requiredAt least 18 months of recent experience in a large hospital (greater than 300 beds)2 years of ICU experience including IV starts, telemetry, conscious sedation, and ventilator managementEpic EMR experience requiredPrevious travel experience required; first-time travelers not acceptedPreferred certifications : CCRN, CPI, TNCCPreferred experience with ICP monitoring and pulmonary artery linesCOVID vaccination required with no exemptions\n Benefits\n
