About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse - ICU

Profession : Registered Nurse

Shift : 12 Hour Days

Hours per Shift : 48

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, excluding travel experience preferred

License : Registered Nurse (RN) - state nursing board compliant

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC (required prior to arrival)

Must-Have : Epic experience, ICU RN qualified to float to ED, PCU RN qualified to float to ICU

Description :

This position is for a nurse in a mixed intensive care unit.

The unit includes Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, Cardiac ICU, and Trauma ICU.

Candidates with complex ICU patient experience are preferred.

Patients may present with diagnoses such as ARDS, myocardial infarction, stroke, COVID-19, and multisystem trauma.

Cardiac experience is preferred but not required.

Fresh open-heart cases will not be assigned unless the applicant has the necessary experience.

The patient-to-nurse ratio varies from 1 : 1 to 1 : 3, depending on acuity.

Experience with IV medications, hemodynamic lines, ventilator management, and telemetry is essential.

Strong critical thinking and assessment skills are required.

Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Familiarity with Impella, IABP, and CRRT is strongly preferred.

The unit is staffed with nurse aides and resource nurses.

Charting is completed using Epic.

Nurses may float to any adult floor if necessary, with confirmed comfort levels discussed in the interview.

Scheduled weekend rotation occurs every other week, but is not guaranteed.

No time off is allowed during holidays or specific events.

Approval of time off requests is required when extending contracts.
