About The Position

Job Title : EEG Technician

Profession : Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Specialty : EEG Tech

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day

Hours per Shift : 8 hours (07 : 00 - 15 : 30)

Experience : Two years of training and experience in clinical Electroneurodiagnostic technology or five years as a Seizure Monitor Technician. Pediatric experience required.

License : BLS certification through the American Heart Association only.

Certifications : R.EEG.T preferred.

Must-Have :

Graduation from an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Program or equivalent experience.

Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center or similar size hospital preferred.

Travel experience is highly preferred.

Description :

The Neurodiagnostic Technologist I is a multi-skilled allied health professional.

They perform diagnostic testing procedures including electroencephalograms (EEG), evoked potentials (EP), nerve conduction studies (NCS), long-term monitoring for epilepsy (LTM), and continuous EEG monitoring.

This work is conducted under the supervision of senior staff and a physician.

The technologist must be able to analyze data during recording to ensure valid and interpretable results.

A relevant patient history obtained by the technologist guides the test procedure.

Knowledge in clinical neurology is essential.

The technician will work in various settings, such as outpatient laboratories, emergency rooms, operating rooms, intensive care units, and at the patient’s bedside.

Floating between units may be required based on current staffing needs.

Weekend rotations and some holidays may be required.

Pass / fail testing is required prior to starting the position.

The technologist must maintain competency in telemetry.

The orientation typically lasts about one week.
