Description :

The unit operates within a Long Term Care facility.

The RN will act as charge, administer medications, and perform wound care.

The facility includes 26 beds / residents.

The electronic medical record system in use is Matrix.

The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 10 during the day and 1 : 19 at night.

Common diagnoses among patients include heart disease, diabetes, and dementia.

There are no IVs or titratable drips required.

There are no telemetry monitors present on this unit.

RNs are not required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehab.

The facility has a Director of Nursing but no supervisors on staff.

Physicians are available by phone on-call after hours.

There is no interdisciplinary team, as this unit only provides Long Term Care.

Physical Therapy is available as needed, along with a designated social worker.

Respiratory Therapy is not on-site 24 / 7.

The facility utilizes oxygen concentrators and portable concentrators.

Pharmacy services are off-site, and a medication dispensing system is in place.

Shifts are 12 hours from 7 AM to 7 PM, with no blocked schedules or self-scheduling available.

Weekend requirements include working every other weekend.

Holiday requirements include working every other major holiday.

There are no call or standby requirements.

Floating to other units is not required.

There is no specific dress code, but staff must be clean and presentable.

Orientation includes 2-3 shifts specific to the unit.

RTO must be submitted upfront, and additional RTO will not be approved after submission.

The facility reserves the right to cancel up to four shifts during a 13-week assignment.

Charting is done using the Matrix system.

A BSN is not required.
