Join Our Team at Sadler Health Center as a Referral Coordinator!
Are you passionate about patient care and ensuring seamless healthcare experiences? We are looking for a dedicated Referral Coordinator to join our team and play a crucial role in managing patient referrals and coordinating care.
Key Responsibilities :
- Initiate and Complete Referrals : Start the referral process and ensure timely completion.
- Close the Loop : Obtain consult notes and test results from specialists.
- Verify Patient Information : Ensure accuracy of patient demographics and insurance details.
- Assemble Clinical Information : Gather and provide necessary clinical background to specialists.
- Insurance Coordination : Contact review organizations and insurance companies for prior approvals, presenting medical information as needed.
- Patient Communication : Review referral details and expectations with patients.
- Barrier Assessment : Identify and assist in resolving barriers to specialty appointments, working with Community Health Workers when necessary.
- Advocacy : Advocate on behalf of patients with insurance carriers to ensure timely approval of services.
- Appointment Reminders : Remind patients of scheduled specialist appointments via mail or phone.
- Scheduling Assistance : Help schedule patient appointments as required.
- Prenatal Care Tracking : Maintain and track prenatal care and delivery outcomes.
- Referral Coordination : Collaborate with outside co-locating specialists.
- Productivity Tracking : Track and report on productivity.
- Liaison Role : Act as a liaison between Sadler and regional specialty offices.
- Timely Deliverables : Ensure all deliverables are on time and accurate.
We are looking for someone with a High School Diploma / GED who has completed medical terminology / CPT and ICD coding course / certification and with a minimum of 6 months experience in a clinical setting using medical terminology, CPT, HCPCS and ICD coding.
Previous referral experience in a multiple provider medical practice, insurance verification experience, working with an electronic health record system, and working with low-income and / or underserved or multi-ethnic populations is a plus. The pay range for this role is $20-21 per hour.
