Overview
The University of New Mexico is seeking a skilled Security and Fire Alarms Systems Technician to join our Life Safety team. Reporting to the Alarms Supervisor, this position supports and maintains the University's life safety systems, including fire alarms, intrusion detection, CCTV, and related security systems. The technician will collaborate with Safety and Risk Services, and local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), such as the Fire Marshal, to ensure compliance, reliability, and rapid response. This role requires participation in a 24 / 7 / 365 on-call rotation to provide critical support for emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Certification / Licensure : State of New Mexico ES-3J Journeyman Low Voltage Special Systems (under 50 volts).
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
