Position Summary :
Responsible for leading the successful implementation of warehouse management systems (WMS), operational processes, and analytics tools to support Gilmer’s growing warehouse network. This role will play a key part in launching new initiatives, optimizing workflows, and driving efficiency across multiple sites. The Implementation Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business goals.
Essential Functions :
- Lead implementation projects for WMS and related technology solutions, ensuring smooth rollout and adoption at warehouse sites.
- Partner with operations leadership to design and implement scalable processes that support company growth and operational excellence.
- Provide hands-on support during start-up phases for new facilities or service lines, including staffing, training, and operational readiness.
- Collaborate with IT and warehouse teams to ensure accurate system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting during WMS implementation.
- Develop and maintain implementation timelines, milestones, and deliverables while managing stakeholder expectations.
- Analyze operational data and key performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and guide decision-making.
- Build reporting and analytics tools to monitor performance, productivity, and cost-effectiveness of warehouse operations.
- Facilitate process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to streamline workflows and reduce waste.
- Train site leaders and warehouse staff on new systems, processes, and best practices to ensure long-term success and sustainability.
- Partner with Finance and Business Development teams to ensure new implementations align with financial objectives and customer requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with external vendors, consultants, and technology partners to support system upgrades and ongoing improvements.
- Communicate project updates, risks, and successes to executive leadership in a clear and concise manner.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations during all implementation activities
- Perform other related duties as required to support successful project delivery and operational readiness.
Requirements :
Proven experience managing warehouse or logistics implementation projects, including WMS rollouts.Strong operational background with a deep understanding of warehouse processes and supply chain fundamentals.Start-up experience, with the ability to build processes and teams from the ground up in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Proficiency with warehouse management systems and related technology platforms.Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making and measure success.Experience in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, including tools such as 5S, Gemba walks, and Kaizen.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to train and influence diverse teams.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to lead root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.Work Environment :
This role requires regular travel to multiple sites within Middle Georgia and occasional trips to West Monroe, Louisiana.Primarily office-based with regular visits to warehouse and operational areas.This job requires working in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse (indoor temperature fluctuates through each season).This job may require working extended hours, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays, and other shifts as needed to meet customer requirements.Mix of office work and time on the warehouse floor.Exposure to temperature changes, noise, forklifts, heavy equipment, etc.Use of PPE (personal protective equipment) as required.Education and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, logistics, or a related field required.Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse operations, supply chain, or logistics.At least 3–5 years of experience leading WMS or technology implementation projects.Experience with start-up environments and launching new facilities or operational initiatives strongly preferred.Strong background in data analytics and reporting tools required.EEO Statement :
