Are you a passionate Pulmonary and Critical Care specialist with a focus on lung transplantation ? Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is on the lookout for a Board-Certified / Board-Eligible physician to join our esteemed program. In 2024, we proudly performed 99 lung transplants, establishing ourselves as one of the most innovative lung transplant centers in the nation, known for our excellent outcomes and some of the shortest waiting times in the U.S.
This is an exciting opportunity that combines both inpatient and outpatient duties, supported by a dynamic team of Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). Key Responsibilities :
- Deliver comprehensive care for patients with advanced lung diseases and those undergoing lung transplantation.
- Lead and participate in the lung transplant program, ensuring high-quality care and outstanding patient outcomes.
- Manage both inpatient and outpatient cases, including consultations, follow-ups, and post-transplant care.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, including pulmonologists, transplant surgeons, and APPs, to provide a patient-centered approach to care.
- Contribute to the educational and research missions of the division, training medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Engage in cutting-edge research and clinical trials aimed at improving lung transplantation outcomes and advancing pulmonary medicine.
Qualifications :
Board Certified / Board Eligible in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care.Expertise in lung transplantation is essential; experience with ECMO and advanced therapies for pulmonary diseases is highly desirable.This position offers an academic appointment, providing opportunities for teaching, mentorship, and scholarly activities.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.A passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and contributing to the advancement of medical knowledge in pulmonary and critical care medicine.Why Choose Vanderbilt?
