Job Description :

We are seeking a skilled and certified Metal Fabricator with experience in structural fitting, welding, tacking, and using magnetic drills. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, along with the ability to work with various metals in a fabrication setting. This role requires the ability to interpret blueprints, assemble metal structures, and ensure the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Structural Fitting : Interpret and follow blueprints, drawings, and schematics to assemble metal structures for various industrial and commercial projects.
  • Welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) : Perform high-quality welding using MIG, TIG, and Stick techniques to fabricate and repair metal structures, ensuring strong and durable welds.
  • Tacking : Use tacking techniques to hold metal pieces in place before final welding or assembly, ensuring alignment and accuracy.
  • Magnetic Drilling : Operate a magnetic drill to bore holes in metal for bolts, fasteners, or other necessary components.
  • Flux Application : Use flux as necessary for welding and ensure proper application to prevent contamination and create clean, strong welds.
  • Assembly : Assemble fabricated parts and components into final structures, ensuring proper fit and alignment.
  • Inspection and Quality Control : Inspect welds, fabricated parts, and assembled components for compliance with safety and quality standards. Make necessary adjustments to ensure structural integrity.
  • Maintenance : Maintain and clean welding and fabricating equipment, including the magnetic drill, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Safety and Compliance : Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while working in the fabrication shop, ensuring safe practices in welding, lifting, and handling of materials.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other fabricators to ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
  • Adhere to scheduled break and lunch times, ensuring timely return to work to maintain productivity and operational efficiency.

Skills and Qualifications :

  • Driver's license
  • Proven experience as a Metal Fabricator with a strong background in structural welding.
  • Certified Welder (AWS or equivalent certification is preferred).
  • Proficient in MIG , TIG , and Stick welding techniques.
  • Skilled in structural fitting and the ability to work with heavy metals and large assemblies.
  • Experience with magnetic drilling and other fabrication tools.
  • Strong knowledge of welding materials and the ability to select the appropriate consumables (electrodes, fillers, flux) for different materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of welding inspection methods and quality control standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality work with minimal supervision.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to work in various environments, including workshop and on-site locations.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Previous experience in large-scale structural metal fabrication (buildings, industrial structures).
  • Forklift certification preferred or ability to operate other heavy machinery.
  • Experience with CNC machines or automated welding systems.
  • Knowledge of advanced welding techniques or specialized certifications (e.g., ASME, API).
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift heavy materials and components (up to 50 pounds).
  • Ability to work in standing, bending, and crouching positions for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a workshop environment with exposure to heat, welding fumes, noise, and other fabrication-related conditions.
