🏥 Travel RN – Case Manager (Inpatient)

Facility Type : 172-bed Teaching Hospital, Level II Trauma Center

Location : Salinas Valley, CA

Shift : 5x8s – Day Shift (Monday–Friday)

Contract Length : 88 weeks

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours / week

Start Date : Flexible – facility will accommodate start any day of the week

Dress Code : Business casual or professional scrubs (any color) — no external facility logos

✅ Key Requirements :

Licensure :

Active California RN license (no pending licenses)

BLS (AHA only)

Experience :

Minimum 5 years of Case Management experience

Discharge Planning & Utilization Review required

InterQual experience required

Meditech experience preferred

Previous travel experience strongly preferred

Technical Skills :

Confident with clinical coordination, admission criteria reviews, denial prevention, and payer communication

Must be comfortable speaking with physicians and understanding disease trajectory

Caseload :

15–20 adult inpatient cases

Assignment “A” (ICU, Surgery, MIU, L&D, NICU, Peds) : lighter discharge planning load

ED caseload varies

Certifications Preferred :

CCM or ACM (not required)

🔄 Team & Schedule Expectations :

Works with :

Acute Care Management Nurses

Bedside RNs

Social Workers

Weekend & holiday rotations required (typically 2 inpatient CMs scheduled on weekends)

Must be flexible to float between teams and adjust based on staffing needs

Consistency in assignment is preferred but not guaranteed

📝 Onboarding & Compliance Requirements :

Resume : Must include full education (with grad date) and 7 years of complete work history (facility names required)

References : Two recent (within 3 years); one must be a supervisor

Skills Checklist : Completed within 1 year for Case Management

Licensure Verification : Nursys report + online license check within 30 days

Drug Screen : 9-panel, lab-based only; no marijuana listed; required within 1 year

Physical Exam : Within 1 year

Vaccinations :

MMR : 2 doses or positive titer

Varicella : 2 doses, positive titer, or provider-verified history

Hep B : Proof of series, positive antibody, or declination

Influenza (required if working 11 / 1–3 / 31 or mask if declined)

Tdap within 10 years

TB Test : Within 1 year (or chest X-ray + questionnaire for positives)

Additional Required Modules :

Pyxis MedStation & Pyxis Med Link (certificates required)

Core Joint Commission Training (I, II, III)

Specialty Competency Exam (80%+ required)

Photo ID : Current State ID or Driver’s License

Other Checks : Background, OIG, SAM, FACIS Level III, SSN Trace (must include all aliases)
