Field Operations Director - Network / Cabling

This position is 100% in-office and onsite in Charleston, WV. Remote work is not an option. Advantage Technology is a leading IT and infrastructure solutions provider with a 20+ year track record of delivering high-quality service across the region. We specialize in networking, structured cabling, telecommunications, and enterprise-level IT infrastructure. We're expanding our Charleston operations and looking for a battle-tested operations leader to run our Network and Cabling division. This is not a desk job - it's a hands-on leadership role overseeing multiple crews, complex projects, and fast-moving schedules. What You'll Do Lead network and cabling teams (20+ internal staff + multiple subcontractor crews) across multiple concurrent projects. Own project schedules, manpower planning, and jobsite execution. Solve real-time problems - from material delays to shifting client priorities - while keeping projects on track. Be the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence. Use project management tools (Microsoft Project, Gantt charts, etc.) to build and maintain schedules. Coordinate cross-department efforts to deliver fully integrated network and cabling solutions. Monitor budgets, allocate resources effectively, and ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget. Enforce safety standards and operational best practices on every job. What You Bring 7+ years of experience in network infrastructure, structured cabling, or construction operations. 5+ years leading field teams and subcontractors on complex, multi-site projects. A proven ability to run toward problems, not away from them - keeping crews aligned under pressure. Strong organizational and scheduling skills with project management software. Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills. Full-time availability onsite in Charleston, WV (remote work is not an option). Bonus Points PMP or equivalent project management certification. Hands-on experience with structured cabling, telecom infrastructure, or enterprise networking.
