Civil Construction Estimator – Heavy Civil / Infrastructure
Location : Hinckley, OH (Cleveland area)
Type : Full-Time
Salary Range : $100,000 – $125,000 base + ESOP + full benefits
About the Opportunity
Our client, a civil and infrastructure leader headquartered just south of Cleveland, is seeking a Civil Construction Estimator to join their estimating team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates on heavy civil scopes including earthwork, utilities, concrete, and foundations.
You’ll collaborate closely with operations, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to produce high-quality bids on public and private infrastructure projects. This is a growth-oriented role in a stable, ESOP-owned company that values technical excellence and teamwork.
What You’ll Do
- Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and vendor quotes to generate detailed estimates
- Prepare cost breakdowns for earthwork, utilities, roadways, concrete structures, and deep foundations
- Perform detailed takeoffs and labor, material, and equipment pricing using HCSS HeavyBid and Bluebeam
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids and establish competitive pricing
- Lead bid reviews and risk assessments with internal stakeholders
- Prepare and submit complete bid packages
- Collaborate with build teams and project managers for handoffs and planning
- Attend progress and planning meetings as needed
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field2+ years of heavy civil construction estimating experienceProficiency in Bluebeam Revu; HCSS HeavyBid preferredKnowledge of DOT specs and utility / civil site constructionStrong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsEstimating experience on $5M+ civil projectsValid driver’s licenseWhat’s Offered
