Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs preventative maintenance, operates, and tests machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions; checking blueprints, repair manuals, or catalogs, as necessary
- Dismantles and troubleshoots machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools
- Performs routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, gears, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventative maintenance actions.
- Repairs, cleans, and lubricates machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices
- Assembles, installs, or repairs wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment
- Plans and lays out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams
- May align and balance new equipment after installation
- May perform general handyman repairs or maintenance on the building, including grounds maintenance
- Performs all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures
- Maintains a clean, safe work area free of foreign materials
- Participates in training and cross-training efforts as needed
- Other duties as assigned
