Role Overview

We are seeking a licensed Structural Engineer (Civil / Structural PE) to join our team and lead the completion of structural design projects.

This engineer will provide calculation packages, develop solutions for residential and light commercial structures, and stamp engineering documents for permitting. The role is focused on design execution, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and client-ready deliverables.

Perform structural calculations, load analysis, and material selection for residential and light commercial projects.

Collaborate with drafters to translate calculations into construction-ready drawings.

Review site documentation collected by technicians and confirm project scope.

Prepare PE-stamped design packages, including drawings and calculation reports, for permitting.

Address municipal comments and revisions during permitting.

Support construction administration when required (site visits, compliance verification, contractor coordination).

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required).

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Iowa or immediate ability to obtain Iowa stamp.

3+ years of relevant experience in structural design.

Proficiency with structural analysis and drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, calculation tools).

Strong knowledge of IBC / IRC codes and local permitting processes.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain structural concepts to non-engineers.

Proven ability to deliver accurate, code-compliant designs within deadlines.
